Wonderful First Charter Five

A darn rare note with a meager six large size known. A bank from the County seat that issued only First Charter and Second Charter notes before kicking the bucket in 1914. A really pretty note that has retained bold signatures, vibrant red inks, and three broad margins. According to the National Bank Note Census, this is clearly the second nicest First Charter note listed. Only a couple other examples have sold at auction in the past couple of decades. A $10 note, graded PCGS Fine 12 Apparent, that sold for $2,350 in 2012. The other was a $5 note, grading Fine, that we sold for over $2,000 in our 2012 Memphis sale. A superior First Charter note that is easily a multi-thousand dollar item.
