The nomenclature of this bank makes it one of the great names for any town that produced bank notes. Ultimately named for Chief Sleepy Eye of the Sisseton Dakota tribe who had a droopy eyelid(s). A really bright note that could easily be confused with a fully XF note. While not rare in terms of strict census numbers, this is certainly one of the three or four finest small size examples listed. A prize piece that will no doubt fit in nicely with one of the many advanced Minnesota collections.
