A boldly signed and numbered Fugio note with small rust stains on the face. These are always popular with collectors due to the "Mind Your Business" logal and the Fugio sundial as well as the thirteen colonies chain links on the back showing unity.

Through the holder this gorgeous note faces up like a wonderfully signed and well printed near gem. There is a hole cancel and some trace corner handling that appears to account for the grade.

A very scarce fractional denomination note from this much tougher 1770 Maryland issue. PCGS notes multiple repaired splits and pinholes but this is not surprising. The signatures remain bold and the paper is crisp. We can hardly find any other auction records for this denomination which testifies to its rarity.

PCGS notes a small edge split at bottom center and we need to concur that it is very small. Otherwise, this is a very nice example of the much tougher 1775 Maryland issue. Repeater serial number 9292 should be of interest to someone.

A very bright and boldly signed example of this Church note that has multiple pinholes and repaired splits and tears. These facts are typical. What is atypical is super low serial number 5. This fact alone probably doubles the value of this already solid three figure item.

Friedberg lists this denomination simply as "Very Rare." PCGS notes there are multiple pinholes and a repaired center split. Of the handful we have encountered, this is by far the highest grade example and we are sure it will bring plenty of money once the hammer falls.

VFs of this Freidberg number always bring three digit prices when they appear and we expect the same here tonight. Serial number 632 is pretty low for this issue.

2 Shillings 6 Pence, One Pound, 10 Shillings December 1771 Uncut Sheet of Three Notes
One of the nicest examples we have seen of this 1771 North Carolina sheet of three notes. The margins are huge on all four sides with great embossing and bold signatures applied to each note. This appears to us as if it could easily have even reached the superb gem grade. When this sheet realized $862.50 in the 2012 FUN sale our consignor thought it was undervalued and he very well may have been correct.

Promissory Note Washington, DC July 31, 1816
An intriguing item which is from the third federal issue of Jan 1, 1814 - Dec 31, 1817. There is a 25 cent embossed stamp at left with small eagle and shield. Large "STAMP US" watermark is seen as well as a couple of very minor cut cancels. A lightly folded example that has great presentation and is a very interesting item which we rarely encounter. Catalog attribution is RM-277a.

F.E. Spinner Autographed Card
A great piece of fractional ephemera with the bold autograph of F.E. Spinner Mohawk, NY. Spinner was the cashier of the Mohawk Valley Bank before he became the United States Treasurer. There is no grade of course but the card is flawless.

Spinner and Gilfillan Autographed Card
This is a very interesting item since we don't often see this. While Spinner's autograph is certainly more available, that of James Gilfillan is a much tougher animal to tame and here they are both together. "Very Respectfully Yours F.E. Spinner" is seen on one side and "James Gilfillan Treasurer U.S." is seen on the other. Gilfillan was treasurer from 1877-1883.

The available population of this Rosecrans-Jordan signature combination stand around 40 strong. That makes this quite a desirable large type note as these infrequently appear in anybody's sales or in dealer showcases. PCGS notes washed, faded treasury seal and back discoloration. All of these can't detract from the fact that the note is bright with the look of a much better grade. Do not be shy if you wish to obtain this piece as it will likely be quite some time before another one appears.
