Lot #3300 - Continental Currency - ($ 275.00 - $ 425.00)
CC-8 $8 May 10, 1775
The technical grade does not do justice to the fact that this is a gorgeous example of the challenging first Continental emission. Excellent and bold signatures and astounding print quality make this a highly desirable item, even if there are a couple of minor spots confined to the back.
Grade: XF
Lot #3301 - Continental Currency - ($ 225.00 - $ 375.00)
CC-16 $6 November 29, 1775
A wonderfully signed and very well embossed Continental with a toning spot at top.
Grade: XF
Lot #3302 - Continental Currency - ($ 850.00 - $ 1,350.00)
CC-17 $7 November 29, 1775
Simply a wonderfully signed, boldly printed and deeply embossed Continental note that should please the fussiest of collectors. This stunning beauty has all the appeal of a four-figure Gem but not quite the technical merit.
Grade: Choice CU
Lot #3303 - Continental Currency - ($ 150.00 - $ 250.00)
$1 Continental Pair November 29, 1775 and May 9, 1776
While not things of beauty this pair of Continental notes is fortunate to be of the $1 denomination, thereby making them very desirable to collectors. This denomination was only available in five of the eleven Continental emissions. Both examples have a lengthy tear along the center fold.
Grade: VG and VF
Lot #3304 - Continental Currency - ($ 150.00 - $ 250.00)
CC-19 $1/6 February 17, 1776
This is the scarcest and most desirable of the Fugio fractional denomination notes. The note itself is a solid VF with mounting damage along the top and bottom portions of the note. While a nice, problem free VF is a $300-$400 item in today's market we would expect this problem piece to bring at least half that.
Grade: VF, mounting damage
Lot #3305 - Continental Currency - ($ 750.00 - $ 1,250.00)
CC-21 $1/2 February 17, 1776
A wonderfully signed and numbered example of this Fugio fractional denomination note that has some corner folds that account for the grade. Always popular with collectors due to the sundial with the motto "Mind Your Business" and the Thirteen Colonies chain links on the back.
Grade: AU
Lot #3306 - Continental Currency - ($ 350.00 - $ 550.00)
CC-33 $3 May 9, 1776
A lightly circulated example of this popular odd denomination Continental. Bold printing and good eye appeal will follow this piece in its travels.
Grade: AU
Lot #3307 - Continental Currency - ($ 300.00 - $ 500.00)
CC-34 $4 May 9, 1776
An absolutely gorgeous AU note with the boar charging spear vignette that is well signed, boldly printed and deeply embossed. The eye appeal of this piece is that of a really choice note but there is a central thin due to an old mounting removal.
Grade: Choice AU
Lot #3308 - Continental Currency - ($ 300.00 - $ 500.00)
CC-35 $5 May 9, 1776
A boldly signed and wonderfully original example of this earlier Continental issue that has the look of a $500 note but with some light mounting glue seen on the front.
Grade: Choice AU
Lot #3309 - Continental Currency - ($ 325.00 - $ 475.00)
CC-37 $7 May 9, 1776
This is a very popular odd denomination Continental from this earlier 1776 issue. PMG notes that the corners are cut but this is really of little consequence. The signatures and printing are absolutely superb, the paper is crisp and the embossing clearly evident through the third party holder.
Grade: PMG About Uncirculated 53 EPQ
Lot #3310 - Continental Currency - ($ 450.00 - $ 650.00)
CC-38 $8 May 9, 1776
An uncirculated example of the highest denomination from this Continental emission. Crisp paper and bold printing lend to the eye appeal of this piece. There are a couple of light stains that keep this note from a much higher grade.
Grade: CU
Lot #3311 - Continental Currency - ($ 300.00 - $ 500.00)
CC-57 $4 Benjamin Levy Autograph February 26, 1777
A lovely example of this boar charging spear vignette with the signature of Benjamin Levy, the only Jewish signer of Continental Currency. The note is lightly handled and still retains most of its original crispness.
Grade: XF
Lot #3312 - Continental Currency - ($ 225.00 - $ 375.00)
CC-62 $30 February 26, 1777
This is the highest denomination note from this popular Baltimore issue and it is certainly the most desirable as well. An evenly circulated piece that has solid print quality and bold signatures.
Grade: VF/XF
Lot #3313 - Continental Currency - ($ 225.00 - $ 325.00)
CC-85 $50 Near Solid Five Digit Serial Number September 26, 1778
Serial #99994 is found on this inspiring Continental note with the pyramid vignette which, in light of recent current events, makes us harken back to ancient Egyptian times. The note is well signed and wonderfully embossed with some light foxing throughout. There is a single center fold and a couple of diagonal corner folds that account for the grade.
Grade: XF/AU
Lot #3314 - Continental Currency - ($ 150.00 - $ 250.00)
CC-85 $50 September 26, 1778
A well signed and boldly printed Continental note that has been backed, although we are not sure why since it is wholly intact.
Grade: XF, backed
Lot #3315 - Continental Currency - ($ 250.00 - $ 350.00)
CC-86 $60 September 26, 1778
A wonderfully printed and deeply embossed Continental with a small tear at top. The eye appeal of this note is really quite lovely for the grade.
Grade: XF
Lot #3316 - Continental Currency - ($ 225.00 - $ 375.00)
CC-93 $30 September 26, 1778
A couple of light folds are seen on this crisp and very well embossed Continental. Bold signatures and serial number remain intact. Continental Currency continues to be a very hot area for collectors.
Grade: XF/AU
Lot #3317 - Continental Currency - ($ 250.00 - $ 350.00)
CC-92 $20 January 14, 1779
A wonderfully crisp and fresh example from this final issue that has a single center fold. The print quality is superb and the eye appeal from the front impeccable. The back shows a streak of brown glue along the right edge but aside from that this is a real pleaser.
Grade: AU
Lot #3318 - Continental Currency - ($ 175.00 - $ 275.00)
CC-94 $35 January 14, 1779
Bold signatures and bright paper make this a very desirable example for your Continental type set.
Grade: VF/XF
Lot #3319 - Continental Currency - ($ 300.00 - $ 500.00)
CC-99 $60 January 14, 1779
A bold nature print is seen on the back of this final issue Continental. A problem free note in every way but for some mounting residue on the back corners.
Grade: AU
Lot #3320 - Colonial Currency > Connecticut - ($ 200.00 - $ 300.00)
CT-208 1s3d Slash Cancel June 19, 1776
An incredibly astounding example of this Connecticut issue that has some of the best embossing and paper quality that one will find. Only on some of the notes from this colony will one find this incredible paper quality. A real pleaser that could easily challenge the Gem grade.
Grade: Choice CU
Lot #3321 - Colonial Currency > Maryland - ($ 150.00 - $ 300.00)
MD-46 $4 January 1, 1767
A very decent example of this much scarcer early Maryland issue which is the first obtainable issue from this colony. This note is backed and has splits which is par for the course. Virtually all 1767 notes have a multitude of problems due to the fact that they were crisp as cardboard and therefore got damaged as soon as they were folded.
Grade: PCGS Apparent Fine 15
Lot #3322 - Colonial Currency > Maryland - ($ 350.00 - $ 550.00)
MD-70 $8 April 10, 1774
A wonderfully signed and deeply embossed example from this more available Maryland issue. One of the nicest examples you will find as these rarely are found uncirculated.
Grade: PCGS About New 50
Lot #3323 - Colonial Currency > Maryland - ($ 125.00 - $ 250.00)
MD-93 $1/3 August 14, 1776
This is a much scarcer issue for Maryland notes with the fractional denomination examples being deemed more valuable in the price guides as they are genuinely scarcer than the whole dollar denomination notes. This piece faces up like a solid VF but the back shows some more wear. A couple of minor center fold edge nicks and some staining around the borders doesn't greatly infringe upon the appeal of this piece.
Grade: F/VF
Lot #3324 - Colonial Currency > Maryland - ($ 125.00 - $ 250.00)
MD-94 $1/2 August 14, 1776
The body of this well signed note grades VF but there is some staining seen on both sides. The 1776 Maryland issue is far scarcer than the painfully common 1774 issue whose notes infect the market place on a regular basis.
Grade: VF
Lot #3325 - Colonial Currency > Massachusetts - ($ 200.00 - $ 400.00)
MA-195 10d June 18, 1776
A very well margined and attractive example of this scarcer Pence denomination note. The paper from this issue was very coarse and did not print up well so therefore these notes have never been wildly popular and are always undervalued.
Grade: PCGS Fine 15
Lot #3326 - Colonial Currency > Massachusetts - ($ 75.00 - $ 125.00)
MA-280 $3 May 5, 1780
A typical cancelled example from this later issue with some minor mounting peels seen along the back edges.
Grade: XF
Lot #3327 - Colonial Currency > Massachusetts - ($ 100.00 - $ 200.00)
MA-281 $4 May 5, 1780
A typical cancelled Massachusetts note but with bold signatures and great embossing.
Grade: Choice CU
Lot #3328 - Colonial Currency > New Hampshire - ($ 250.00 - $ 350.00)
NH-191 $3 April 29, 1780
A well signed and well printed VF New Hampshire note that is perfect for type.
Grade: VF
Lot #3329 - Colonial Currency > New Jersey - ($ 125.00 - $ 250.00)
NJ-139 30s April 12, 1760
This is a much scarcer issue from this otherwise common colony. While the center fold has seen some minor expert strengthening the grade and eye appeal of this piece is far above average for notes that generally are ratty, split and torn.
Grade: VF, restoration
Lot #3330 - Colonial Currency > New York - ($ 100.00 - $ 200.00)
NY-165 3 Pounds February 16, 1771
Virtually all examples of this 1771 issue are well damaged with splits, tears, backing, etc as the notes were very thin and did not hold up well when circulated. This well signed and boldly printed note is no exception as it has a couple of chipped edges and has been backed.
Grade: VF, damaged
Lot #3331 - Colonial Currency > North Carolina - ($ 200.00 - $ 400.00)
NC-75 4s March 9, 1754
This is a rare lower denomination note that is not seen with any frequency. Virtually all the notes from the hoard of this issue are 10s and higher. PCGS notes that it is backed with splits and tears but it is well signed with the vignette particularly well detailed.
Grade: PCGS Apparent Fine 12
Lot #3332 - Colonial Currency > North Carolina - ($ 150.00 - $ 300.00)
NC-83 5 Pound 1756-1757
This is a much scarcer North Carolina issue with the written dates. PCGS notes stained, edge damage and repairs but the note is primarily intact.
Grade: PCGS Apparent Fine 15
Lot #3333 - Colonial Currency > North Carolina - ($ 400.00 - $ 800.00)
NC-141 2 Pounds December 1771
Simply one of the most beautiful examples we have seen of this high denomination note that is an edge split away from this being a near four figure note. You just don't see these with margin size such as this and paper quality this sublime.
Grade: PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 40
Lot #3334 - Colonial Currency > North Carolina - ($ 400.00 - $ 800.00)
NC-142 3 Pounds December 1771
A lovely high-grade example of this much scarcer denomination. The pound denomination examples from this year, excluding one pound, were not found in sheet form and therefore are difficult to locate and are essentially never uncirculated. This lightly handled note has a couple of small edge splits but it is wonderfully signed, boldly printed and deeply embossed. A typical problem free AU would likely bring around $500 or so.
Grade: PCGS Apparent About New 50
Lot #3335 - Colonial Currency > North Carolina - ($ 75.00 - $ 150.00)
NC-192 $50 May 10, 1780
A solid VF North Carolina Colonial with a water stain across the lower left portion of the note.
Grade: VF
Lot #3336 - Colonial Currency > Virginia - ($ 125.00 - $ 250.00)
VA-90 $1/3 May 6, 1776
A rare denomination that is virtually never seen in the Colonial Currency market place. Well signed with some restorations along the center fold and around the back edges but the signatures remain intact and the rarity is not to be questioned.
Grade: F/VF, restoration
Lot #3337 - Colonial Currency > Virginia - ($ 100.00 - $ 200.00)
VA-94 10s May 6, 1776
One of the more available denominations but still a desirable note. Restored along the center fold as well as the back edges it still faces up pretty nicely.
Grade: F/VF, restorations
Lot #3338 - Colonial Currency > Virginia - ($ 135.00 - $ 195.00)
VA-130 $10 October 20, 1777
In terms of eye appeal this is a very attractive example from this somewhat later Virginia issue. Good margins and excellent centering make this a very desirable piece but there are a couple of expertly repaired center fold splits that must be mentioned.
Grade: VF
Lot #3339 - Fractional Currency - ($ 750.00 - $ 1,250.00)
T-21 $20 September 2, 1861
This is a moderately circulated example of this more desirable type. Bright and colorful with excellent eye appeal and a couple of small patches of foxing, which is very typical for this type. In terms of eye appeal you are not likely to find anything that looks much better without taking a huge leap in price.
Grade: VF/XF
Lot #3340 - Confederate Notes - ($ 150.00 - $ 250.00)
T-66 $50 February 17, 1864

Lot #3375 - Fractional Currency - ($ 150.00 - $ 300.00)
Fr. 1298 25c Third Issue
This is an example of the much scarcer "a" on face fiber paper note. There is a light center fold but otherwise the appearance is great. Closer inspection reveals a couple of tear repairs and a hazy glue-like substance throughout the body of the note. A tough example to figure but somebody will like it.
Grade: AU, restorations
Lot #3376 - Fractional Currency - ($ 175.00 - $ 325.00)
Fr. 1302 25c Fourth Issue
This no watermark variety is actually far scarcer than the other three varieties of this type. This example has three of the hugest margins you will ever find on a Washington note, with the fourth being a little short. A real conversation piece for those whose friends know nothing about some of the old types of money our nation used.
Grade: Very Choice CU
Lot #3377 - Fractional Currency - ($ 125.00 - $ 250.00)

Lot #3378 - Fractional Currency - ($ 400.00 - $ 800.00)
Fr. 1321 50c Second Issue
A wonderfully bronzed and deeply embossed example of this much scarcer fiber paper number. The "2" surcharge is razor sharp and its beauty is not to be questioned. There are some light toning stains and a small paper pull on the back. Were it not for these minor issues this would be a $750 note. Typical problem free AU notes bring $400 to $500.
Grade: PCGS Apparent New 62
Lot #3379 - Fractional Currency - ($ 550.00 - $ 750.00)
Fr. 1322 50c Second Issue

Fr. 1330aSP 50c wide Margin Back Third Issue
This red back specimen could go with either a Spinner face or a Justice face. It is bright and colorful with good embossing and a couple of light folds. Obviously used for presentation this specimen has a layer of glue around the entire back borders.
Grade: AU
Lot #3381 - Fractional Currency - ($ 75.00 - $ 150.00)
Fr. 1339 50c Third Issue
The technical grade of this Type II Spinner might be dead on accurate but the eye appeal is that of a note a couple grades better. We cannot recall the last time we saw a VF with this type of color and bronzing, not to mention picture-perfect centering.
Grade: VF
Lot #3382 - Fractional Currency - ($ 650.00 - $ 950.00)
Fr. 1357 50c Third Issue
