91b 5 Pesos 1941 (1943)
We were shocked to find this great rarity mixed in with a group of generic Philippines notes; the final amount will undoubtedly elate the fortunate consignor and should delight the equally opportunistic winning bidder. This example is the first we have ever offered; most advanced collectors for Philippines including Pineda never had one. This 5 Pesos was processed by the Bureau of Standards to simulate circulation. While 120,000 were processed, to my knowledge only five or six exist and none EVER appear publicly for sale. Margin roughness; significant tear at upper right. After intense competition, the processed Pineda 10 Pesos of this series in PCGS Fine 12 Apparent hammered for $20,000 at Memphis 2012. Critically important opportunity for the Philippines collector; here is your chance to acquire a terrific World War II rarity.
